Charlotte, NC – September 19 2015
The World’s Largest Truck Convoy for Special Olympics was the largest yet in Charlotte, NC. The totals on how much was raised are not yet available, but we know it was in excess of $20,000. There were 168 trucks that participated- Conway had 61 trucks- these drivers came from all over the SE to support this worthy cause. Conway bid and won the honor of having the lead truck and we bid and won the honor of being the last truck.
In addition to this, the Special Olympics athletes voted on the truck with the best graphics. Although we did not win first place, we were awarded 2nd place and presented with a very nice trophy. This was extra special since it was voted on by the athletes. Larry Sweet was also recognized for driving 144 miles over 6 years.
This is a fun event and we look forward to being a part of this next year. Everyone is encouraged to come out and be a part
of this event.
